Purple Pineapple Juice Recipe! - Our favorite for Coughs!!

My daughter and I woke up feeling icky after all our long 4th of July weekend of fun and festivities.  You know that feeling when you can just tell you are about to get sick?  It started with a sore, tickle in my throat...  I didn't want to wait to see how these budding symptoms would progress.  So I went to the kitchen and poured us both a batch of my favorite recipe -

Purple Pineapple Juice Mocktail! (below for recipe)

Purple pineapple juice is our go to when it comes to coughs, sore throats, and is especially soothing for any of our spastic coughs. It has worked wonders for my family time and again. The kids love it and I love that, unlike cough syrup, they can have more of this sweet and refreshing beverage and it is sure to soothe their throat and gut. All-in-One goodness!!

I'll tell you the science behind this little wellness hack!
Pineapples are packed with Bromelain which helps break up mucus in the body and is known to aid in digestion. Two things that your body needs when you are sick. Did you know that when you lose your voice or get a cough, it is often linked to your stomach acids being off?
The Elderberry Syrup also has Honey, Elderberry, Ginger, and Cinnamon that can provide added help, as well as provide immune support to help your body fight against the ickiness.
Optional Bonus: the sweet taste of pineapple masks other flavors so well that I add a shot of ACV (apple cider vinegar) to super charge the concoction and and my kids can't even tell they are sipping on a wellness packed drink!  (Side Bonus - you can also add a shot of vodka to try this out as a summer cocktail!)  Enjoy Friends!!
